The Oigen Nambu Tetsubin is made of cast iron for high durability and features a pouring spout, a lid, and a handle crossing over the top. The arare pattern and shape, peculiar to Nambu iron kettle, is inspired by round moon.
Nambu ironware is admired around the world not only for its fine quality and simplistic beauty, but also for its high durability. The Nambu iron kettle, in particular, is held in high regard and was certified as a Traditional Craftwork of Japan in 1975 due in part to the worldwide recognition it enjoys. As a result, it now adorns many homes in Europe and America.
This Japanese Tetsubin is commonly used for boiling and pouring hot water for drinking purposes, such as making tea. Tea brewing with hot water boiled in an iron kettle and drinking hot water have been popular since ancient times.
There are also health benefits to using the Nambu iron kettle. Drinking water boiled in the kettle supplements iron in the diet, and the water is said to taste milder and improve in quality through repeated use of the kettle.
Instructions
Please use about 80% of the full water capacity. Please note that if it exceeds this, it will be easy to spill.
Moisture may cause rust, so do not leave water in and dry with residual heat after use. If moisture remains, remove the lid and heat for about 30 seconds.
Although it is an IH cooker compatible product, the IH cooker has a higher heating power than a gas stove, so please use it with moderate heat while gradually increasing the temperature. Sudden heating can cause distortion and cracking.
The iron kettle is a product exclusively for boiling water. Do not touch the inside of the iron kettle because it absorbs minerals and attaches a natural protective film (scale).
Due to the nature of casting, there are some individual differences in size and weight.
